Instructions: As such bridges differ from culture to culture, this is best presented as a discussion so people can hear the various ways of bridging to the gospel message.
To begin, remind disciples that they must learn how to strike up natural conversations about life, family, and interests with non-believers.
Draw Field 1 and Field 2 on the board with a large gap in the middle. For effect, draw a river flowing between them and remind participants that it's not usually sharing the gospel that is fearful, but getting across the river that creates the most anxiety. Reassure them that bridges help us cross the river quickly!
Let participants brainstorm effective ways to "bridge" from natural to spiritual conversations. Included would be the use of questions, "seeding" with a spiritual word or two, using pictures, sharing a testimony, and so forth.
The most effective way to reinforce this training is through modeling in real time, so be sure to send participants out with an experienced witness so they can observe in the harvest.
