Vital Lessons
It is important to note that relationships increase exponentially as more people an involved in a group.
As groups become more complex, they rapidly become less participatory. Accountability drops, and people can quickly become spectators rather that participants.
When creating new groups, avoid cutting them in half. Note how many relationships are severed if you were to cut the group of 10 into two new groups! Instead, use the "Barnabas and Paul" method when you simply allow a few people to go and start new groups, much as they did in Acts 13 when Barnabas and Paul left to go on mission.
The Math
You can draw any other combinations, or simply use the following formula to calculate how many relationships exist in any size group:
R = n(n-1) / 2
where R is relationships and n is the number of people in the group.
