Instructions: This is primarily a discussion-based approach with a lot of interaction. Can be coupled with brainstorming how churches have traditionally approached discipleship, usually through a classroom setting. In a larger gathering, divde people into three groups and ask each to brainstorm the following (secretly if possible, without letting groups know what the others are doing):
- What do legacy churches tend to do in order to make disciples?
- What do parents do to raise responsible children?
- What did Jesus do in order to make disciples with the Twelve?
Gather again and let each small group present their findings, in that order. This wonderfully reinforces the simplicity of the disciple-making process that follows a natural order given to us by God in the family setting.
